On 4th and 5th October, Fareco’s quarterly business meeting took place in Porto, which was the first time that it was held outside France. Its location was deliberately chosen, as Fareco has a European subsidiary there. The meeting started with a visit to the Guimarães tolling station north of Porto, managed by the operator Ascendi, one of Fareco’s longstanding clients in the country.
This visit gave Fareco sales executives, who are more experienced with projects involving three-colour lighting signals, the opportunity to visit a “free flow” toll system. This system, which was conceived by Fareco in Portugal, should arrive in France in the coming years once the legal framework is ready.
After a quick visit to the local branch to meet the entire local sales and maintenance team, the programme continued with work focused on strategic and business issues. The turnover made by each branch and the objectives for the following year were reviewed in detail, as well as the ways to achieve these objectives and improve interfacing with the Production and Projects departments. It was a packed yet very productive meeting and strengthened the team spirit between the teams in both countries.
