Cities are facing the growing popularity of traveling by bicycle. Fareco has developed a solution to count cyclists at certain points of their journeys, making it possible to display on a totem decorated in the city's colors the number of cyclists for the day, as well as the total over the year.
Mono or bi-directional counting
Detection is carried out by electromagnetic loops in association with our high sensitivity FOX detector, allowing:
- counting bikes and scooters with an accuracy of over 95%
- counting bicycles in a peloton
- traffic direction discrimination (2 loops per lane)
- detection of bicycles with low magnetic footprints
Bicycle and scooter detector
High sensitivity FOX detector, allows mono or bi-directional counting of bicycles and scooters using electromagnetic loops.
3 options for data management:
FOX detector + measuring station
It is the measuring station which manages the counting data.
The statistics are sent directly to the Traffic PC using the communication link of the measuring station. A totem can be linked to display real-time counts.
FOX detector + light controller
It is the controller that manages the counting data. Statistics are sent directly to the Traffic PC using the link controller communication. A totem can be associated to display counts in real time.
Totem
The totem acts as a real-time information display for passers-by, which motivates cyclists to continue their approach and also encourages pedestrians to take up cycling. The totem can also operate in autonomous mode using the Integrated Fareco bike computer. Transmission of counting data possible to the Traffic PC (Ethernet or 3G/4G connection required).
